NAIROBI Adidas NMD Mens Shoes For Sale , Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Kenya Airways said Thursday it will suspend its flights to Vietnam's Hanoi and China's Hong Kong in October while promising to focus on Africa.

In a new winter schedule rolled out by the firm, Kenya Airways Commercial Director Vincent Coste said the airline will discontinue flights to Hong Kong and Hanoi from Oct. 29 to optimize its route network.

"This network decision will help Kenya Airways to strengthen its focus on Africa. We will continue to serve our customers to Asia through our direct flights to China and Thailand and work closely with our partners to cover the Asian continent," Coste said in a statement issued in Nairobi.

He said the move will allow Kenya Airways to operate with a better schedule to Asia with a daily flight to Bangkok and Guangzhou.

The airline will continue to serve Hong Kong and Hanoi through its partners.

Coste said the network change will also allow the national carrier to allocate more seats across its African network where the demand outlook remains strong and capacity insufficient on certain routes.

VANCOUVER, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- A Canadian living in the western city of Calgary has just found her long-lost brother by posting a message online on New Year's Eve.

Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) News reported on Monday that Matthew Handford, who tracked down his sister, Shylow Wilson, thanks to a post on Facebook in which 25-year-old Wilson said she was looking for her biological brother named Matthew who was given up for adoption by their mother after he was born at Calgary's Grace Hospital in February 1987.

"I was a little skeptical, but now that I've met him, I know it's for sure him Adidas NMD Mens For Sale , and I'm really happy about that," said Wilson. It was a "good Family Day miracle" right there, she said.

Her younger brother Handford also turned to Facebook in last December to look for his three siblings. All he had was their names on a piece of paper his adoptive mother gave him, based on some research she did back in 1996.

"I've got a little paper, something simple with all the same names... To actually put all these back stories together and put a face behind all the stories is amazing," he was quoted by CBC as saying.

Handford contacted a lady named Wanda Levasseur on Facebook, since she had the same last name as his mother Adidas NMD Womens For Sale , Marilyn Levasseur who died at 24 after a battle with alcoholism.

He didn't hear back until last Thursday, when Wanda showed him Wilson's post. Handford reached out to Wilson on Facebook and then by phone, before flying from Toronto in east Canada to Calgary to meet his sister on Saturday.

"I was adopted at four days old, so it's the only family I know. To find out I've got an extended family now, it's a great feeling," Handford said.

Handford said he would definitely stay in touch with his sister. "It took this long to get together, so [we've] got a lot of time to make up," he said.

BAGHDADWASHINGTON, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi government troops and armed extremists continued to fight near Baghdad and in Tikrit Saturday, even as Washington downplayed the threat of Iraqi militants.

Police source told Xinhua that 25 security forces members were killed and some 22 others wounded in fierce battles during the day near the towns of Jurf al-Sakhar, some 50 km south of Baghdad, and Mahmoudiyah, 30 km south of Baghdad, as well as the town of al-Rasheed#5# just south of Baghdad.

The Sunni militants involved in the clashes included those linked to the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL), an al-Qaida offshoot, the source from Babil province, where the areas are located, told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The battles also resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of the militants.

The areas of the battles are part of a restive area, dubbed as Triangle of Death, which is a cluster of towns scattered north of Babil's provincial capital city of Hilla#6# some 100 km south of Baghdad.

Iraq has been witnessing its worst security conditions that began more than two weeks ago when armed Sunni insurgents, spearheaded by the al-Qaida splinter group ISIL, launched a surprise offensive that led to the debacle of Iraqi security forces, and the fall of a large part of the country's northern and western territories.

Also on Saturday, Iraqi security forces launched a major offensive to retake control of the city of Tikrit, the capital of the Sunni-dominant province of Salahudin, which has been seized by the Sunni militants earlier in the month#7# a security source said.

Dozens of military vehicles, backed by tanks, armored vehicles and helicopter gunships advanced in the early morning from four routes toward the city of Tikrit, some 170 km north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The main route of the troops was launched from the areas near the city of Samarra, some 50 km south of Tikrit, but the security forces were stopped by the Sunni militants near the town of Dijla#8# some 25 km south of Tikrit, the source said, adding that the gunmen booby-trapped the buildings and all the roads leading to Tikrit to hamper the troops advance.

Iraqi aircraft carried out intensive air strikes in and around the city of Tikrit, targeting the posts of the Sunni militant, including those .
