TAMPA, Fla. Neal Sterling Jersey . -- Justin Peters deserved a much better outcome after a stellar 47-save performance. Radko Gudas scored 2:16 into overtime and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat Peters and the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 on Saturday night. "Sometimes the goaltender is the best player on the ice, and he was tonight," Lightning coach Jon Copper said about Peters. "Fortunately for us, we got that extra one by him." Gudas beat Peters, who kept the Hurricanes in the game with a number of great saves, from the right circle during a 3-on-1. "I wasnt 100 per cent sure if I could make a pass," Gudas said. Gudas helped setup the odd-man rush with a check on Jeff Skinner, who lost his stick on the play, in the Tampa Bay defensive zone. Victor Hedman and Martin St. Louis also scored for the Lightning. Valtteri Filppula had two assists. "It was real hot in there," Peters said. "They were throwing a lot of rubber at the net. We battled. We battled hard, and unfortunately, we werent able to get the two points." Carolinas Jiri Tlusty had a pair of goals. "Our goalie stole a point for us tonight," Carolina coach Kirk Muller said. "Obviously, he was the difference for us." St. Louis re-directed Hedmans shot during a power play 7:56 into the third that pulled the Lightning even at 2-2. The Hurricanes went up 2-1 on Tlustys short-handed breakaway goal at 10:11 of the second. Carolina has seven short-handed goals this season, all coming on the road. However, the Hurricanes are 1-2-3 when scoring short-handed. Tlusty put Carolina up 1-0 when he beat Ben Bishop with a wrist shot on the Hurricanes first shot at 4:35 of the first. Bishop had shutout Carolina in both of his previous games against the Hurricanes, making 76 saves over the stretch. Bishop finished with 25 saves. Peters, who entered winless in three games with a 4.00 goals-against-average against Tampa Bay, made 15 saves before allowing Hedmans goal that tied it at 1 with 3:48 left in the first. The Lightning outshot Carolina 19-8 during the first. Peters stopped all 13 shots he faced in the second, including a post-to-post glove save on Filppulas shot during a power play late in the period. He turned aside 16 of 17 shots during the third. Tampa Bay defenceman Eric Brewer left in the second with an upper-body injury. Hurricanes defenceman Jay Harrison played seven shfts during the first before leaving the game. NOTES: Injured Lightning star Steven Stamkos briefly skated Saturday. Stamkos, who broke his right leg Nov. 11, resumed limited on-ice workouts about 10 days ago and skated for over 30 minutes Thursday. Stamkos has said he hopes to return in February. ... Hurricanes RW Radek Dvorak played in his 1,230th NHL game, which is two away from tying Dino Ciccarelli for 84th on the career list. ... Tampa Bay LW Ryan Malone (broken ankle) had an extensive on-ice conditioning session and could return by early next month. ... Lightning C Tom Pyatt played after missing 32 games due to a broken collarbone. ... Carolina D Mike Komisarek was scratched for the second straight game after being activated from injured reserve. Trumaine Johnson Jersey . At quarterback, all agree that Andy Dalton has been a wonderful surprise, but to truly progress he has to play his best in the playoffs. The two losses in the wildcard rounds keep the evaluation on Dalton open -- just like it did for Peyton Manning many years ago and Matt Ryan until last year. Joe Namath Jersey . Instead, Nonis and Kessel were sorting through the fallout of a wild melee with the Buffalo Sabres, one that saw Kessel suspended for the duration of the pre-season. http://www.officialnewyorkjetsfootball.com/authentic-ardarius-stewart-jersey-womens . The 31-year-old, a two-time CFL lineman of the year, was among the most coveted free agents on the market. The Windsor, Ont., native will be especially important to a team that has lost veteran quarterback Anthony Calvillo to retirement and is expected to go with the less experienced Troy Smith and Tanner Marsh this season.CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Bobcats agreed on Thursday to a three-year, $40.5 million contract with free agent centre Al Jefferson from the Utah Jazz, said people familiar with the situation. Jefferson will make $13.5 million in each year of the deal, with the third season being a player option. The people spoke to The Associated Press on Thursday on condition of anonymity because the deal hasnt become official. The contract cannot be signed until July 10 when the NBAs moratorium on signing new deals is lifted. Jefferson, 28, gives the Bobcats a much-needed scoring threat in the low post, where they struggled last season. He should also help on the boards, where the Bobcats were repeatedly outrebounded the last two seasons. The 6-foot-10, 289-pound Jefferson has averaged 18.8 points and 10 rebounds per game over the last seven seasons. Last season, his third with the Jazz, he averaged 17.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists. The Boston Celtics selected Jefferson out of high school in Mississippi with the No. 15 pick in the 2004 draft. During a nine-year NBA career, Jefferson also played two seasons for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He has career averages of 16.4 points, 9 rebounds and 1.5 assists. Jefferson was among four high-profile free agents who played last season with the Jazz, along with Paul Millsap, Mo Williams and Randy Foye. Utah went 43-39 and missed the playoffs for the second time in three years. Acquired by the Jazz in a July 2010 trade, Jefferson earned $15 million last season and led the team in both scoring and rebounding. After the 2012-13 season ended, Jefferson told reporters he believed he improved his overall game while in UUtah. Robby Anderson Jersey. "I have showed Im not just the black hole reputation I had years ago," Jefferson said in April of never passing the ball back out of the post. "I showed people that I can do other things." In April, Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin praised Jefferson for his contributions in Utah. "I think hes done a great job, coming in, being known as an offensive player, getting numbers," Corbin said. "And hes gotten numbers here, but theyve helped us win a lot of games. Hes been healthy. Hes always ready and willing to play and likes to be on the floor and I think hes been a great guy with this team of guys." Jefferson, who was given credit for helping develop young players Derrick Favours and Enes Kanter, said then that it was emotional to say goodbye to his Jazz teammates at the abrupt end of the season. The Jazz finished just out of the playoffs in ninth place in the Western Conference. "Theres no way in the world every one of these guys will be here next year, all together," Jefferson said. Jefferson becomes the best low post scoring threat the Bobcats have had in nine years in the NBA. Last year, the Bobcats started a combination of Brendan Haywood, Byron Mullens, Bismack Biyombo and Josh McRoberts at centre. Gana Diop, their other big man, rarely played. Jefferson was ranked as the third-best centre on the free agent market by CBSSports.com behind Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum. He joins a Bobcats team in dire need of star players. The Bobcats are just 28-120 over the past two seasons, and their biggest high-profile player is second-year point guard Kemba Walker.
