Nowadays, more and more cameras like Canon XA25, Canon Vixia HF R21, Panasonic Lumix DMC Series, Sony Cyber-shot series, Sony Handycam, Sony HDR-SR10E and Sony Alpha NEX series record footage in AVCHD. And most of AVCHD files are in MTS format, which is a high-definition MPEG Transport Steam video format. However, if you want to import those AVCHD MTS clips into Windows Movie Maker for further editing, you'll get disappointed as MTS is not supported by Movie Maker. Then how to open MTS in Windows Movie Maker for editing? Read on to get the best solution.

Typically, MTS files can be opened and edited with software that supports Sony or Panasonic HD camcorders. If you don’t get such software, converting MTS files to Windows Movie Maker acceptable format is a feasible way to open MTS videos in Windows.
